New study shows link between human rights abuses of drug users and HIV

Leading British medical journal, The Lancet, has published a report detailing the link between human rights abuses experienced by people who use drugs and vulnerability to HIV infection and access to services.

Greens campaign for NSP in prison

The Greens spokesperson for Corrections and Health, Amanda Bresnan has released a position paper today calling on goverment to implement needle and syringe programs in ACT's first prison, recently opened. The Greens argue that not only do NSP's improve the health of prisoners and corrections officers, they also improve the uptake of drug treatment programs as evidenced overseas.
